methods of social engineering

Museum setting, 4 maps, 4 videos, national anthems, drawings

Methods of Social Engineering is a multifaceted project that interprets the entire national construction as a means of social manipulation, as a mechanism designed to create a sense of community within arbitrarily defined borders. For this purpose, four ethnic groups that never developed an institutionalized national identity and whose territories were in question during the development of nationalist ideologies (second half of the 18th to the first half of the 20th century) were selected.
Running an alternative historical scenario on these cases, I look at the historical injustice that almost condemned these ethnic groups in historical oblivion, while challenging the sense of inevitability that defines our understanding of modern geopolitics, thus questioning nationbuilding as a natural, organic process, as an inherent political destiny.
